ReplyDeleteSalt, sweet, fat. Everything I love in food. Dan Io was a Hawaiian who was in my company in Vietnam. His mom used to send him care packages. We would all cop a bowl from the mess hall, and in the evenings he would cook up rice and Spam and we would feast.
ReplyDeleteSpam; lunch and dinner for the fat, salt, and chemical preservative crowd. Then native Hawaiians wonder why they have such a problem with diabetes and obesity.

I bought spam as a long storage meat for the covid scamdemic. Still have most of it. Might wait to see to see what scamdemic they throw at us for this election before buying more.
ReplyDeleteSpam , Spam, Spam,, Spam , wonderful Spam!
ReplyDeleteYou should see the Spam displays in the Commissaries in U.S. Bases in South Korea. The Koreans love that stuff! Well, I do too. It's also available in the black market areas, not that I've ever been there....
ReplyDeleteDid something similar about 35 years ago, lugged a bag full of Mexican food back to Chicago. I assume Chicago has seen the light since then. I moved on to a more food friendly location.
