WALTERBORO, S.C. (WCSC/Gray News) - The days-long search for a 15-year-old Japanese macaque that escaped from his habitat did not have a happy ending, officials with Colleton County have confirmed.

  4. I agree. They run rampant, breeding, and creating a general nuisance. And the population keeps feeding them.

  5. There's a federally managed colony for research on "Monkey Island" next door in Beaufort County. The monkey was an escapee, no doubt.

    And did a double take when I realized I was looking at our condo building (Bee St. Lofts) behind the newscaster.
