When a Texas tow company worker discovered what appeared to be a woman’s body in the front passenger seat of an abandoned Porsche, he dialed 911 to report his concerning find.
The body had been wrapped in blankets, though hair on its head was visible from outside the vehicle.

If the body was wrapped in a blanket with only the hair visible, as described in the text, it could look very real. They couldn't open the doors abd unwrap it without the search warrent.

Vidor Texas is on I-10 close to Louisiana border. It used to be one of those 'Don't let the sun set' towns earlier in my lifetime..
We had someone do that at the motel I owned. Fooled everyone, including the cops we called when they first entered the room.
