Officer Not-So-Friendly

A former FBI agent was convicted Friday of sexually assaulting an 11-year-old girl while serving as an Alabama state trooper — a law enforcement job he landed even after he was kicked out of the FBI amid earlier claims that he raped a co-worker at knifepoint.

Christopher Bauer’s case, first detailed in an Associated Press investigation, showed how he was able to hide a checkered past and move from one law enforcement job to another with the help of an allegedly forged letter making it appear he was “eligible for rehire.”

  1. I would love to get the details on that hiring process and references check they use.

  2. Well, so much for FBI background checks (color me shocked). They all hide their misdeeds. Only one sensible and permanent way to deal with a paedophile.

  3. Another reason the FBI should be shut down and its employees denied jobs in other federal agencies.

  4. How in the fuck does someone like this slip through the cracks? And no, that was not meant to be funny...

  5. I have occasion to work with the Alabama Prison System. He’ll be extremely popular there - for a short time, anyway.

  6. Trust cops like you trust politicians. Some good, most bad. What in the world makes someone want a job telling other people what to do at the point of a gun. Perhaps because immunity lets them enjoy their perversions?

  7. The fbi are 'special' agents.
More agentful than a regular agent...
