HAHAHAHAHA!!!

An advert for a pair of school trousers has been deleted by Argos after social media users complained the name of the product was linked to a slur used by racists.

  1. Read past it multiple times, then found the phrase ("knee grow") in the article. I was seeing what the mfr did: "grow hem". Gotta say, the I-dunno-how-to-call-em-so-they're-not-offended folks have got some FINE sensitivity settings. That's an exquisitely tuned sense of offense indeed. The mfr should ditch it; easier than the storm of opprobrium that will ensue otherwise. Personally, I'd just tell the poor offended twit to STFU and grow a pair. I'm offended that he is offended. Context matters, and in this case, there is zero raciss in the context. As any rational human would discern, but that's expecting a lot of the terminally oppressed.

    2. Sort of, Colored as in NAACP. Colored preceded Negro as the accepted term. That was replaced by Black which was replaced by Afro-American.

  3. Argos is a Limey land company smaller but similar to Amazon. They were arseholes (Limey spelling) when I occasionally dealt with them 30 years ago and apparently cowards as well.
