When I was in high school there was a teacher who drove a Kharman Gia and parked like an idiot. Some of the football players picked up the car and set it on top of a hedge by the school. Not sure how they got the car down again.
I try to maintain a "to each his own" attitude about cars but if you run the cost to own and operate numbers on a "Smart for 2" it isn't that smart. Economically you'd be better off in a Corrolla or Civic. And, every single Smart for 2 owner I've ever met has been a phoney condescending libtard asshole.
The only thing I found that was useful for having one was that you didn't have to parallel park the thing in busy downtown traffic. You can park it nose to the curb and still be out of traffic.
Always referred to them as a 'Notso' car. I first saw one in some European city, and credit where credit is due, it does make sense for those packed conditions. Around here? Not so Smart.
Oh look, some kind soul left us a bumper car to play with.
ReplyDeleteBiden voter...
ReplyDelete2 men and a boy could pick it up and carry it to a parking lot down the street.
ReplyDeleteWhy bother, just tump it over
DeleteIt was parked perfectly until a gust of wind moved it.

ReplyDeleteYesterday I was driving behind a similar very small car.
ReplyDeleteIt had an "Actual Size" sticker on the back.
Gave me a good chuckle.
🤔🤣
There is one in my area that looks like a little tikes car. It has the yellow roof and red body, plus little tikes emblems on it.
DeleteI bet the owner's ego barely fits in that thing.

ReplyDeleteYeah. It would make a dandy spare tire. Most people running them or those teslas are not much fun to talk to.
ReplyDeleteWith a wheelbase that short it's gotta ride like a buckboard.

ReplyDeleteThe funny move would be to get someone to park in each spot about half an inch from the bumper, and observe the reaction from a distance.
