Raccoons are not native to Germany, but in less than 100 years, the number of the little masked mammals in the country has grown to several hundred thousand. Some Germans refer to them as waschbären — washing bears — because of their habit of dunking their food before they eat it, while other Germans just call them straight-up annoyances. Especially when beer is involved.

yeah. those damn critters. I flatten the tip of 22lr bullets to make them work better on racoons. the 60 grain ones work the best so far. and if you going to trap them, use marsh mellow crap as bait. they go nuts for it for some reason. dave in pa.
ReplyDeleteAdd a touch of vanilla extract (the cheap stuff) to increase the effectiveness of the marshmallows. Only problem is that skunks also like marshmallows with vanilla.

I didn't know about adding vanilla extract to the marshmallows, but I still trapped and relocated a dozen Racoons and a few Possums using the Jet Puffed mini marshmallows.
