Bill That Would Give Illegal Immigrants Up To $150,000 To Buy Homes Heads To Gavin Newsom’s Desk

A bill passed by the California state legislature on Wednesday that would make some illegal immigrants in California eligible for generous cash assistance to buy homes has been sent to the desk for consideration of Democratic California Gov. Gavin Newsom, according to Politico.

Under AB 1840, illegal immigrants with social security or taxpayer-identification numbers would qualify for a program called California Dream for All that gives first-time home buyers up to $150,000, with recipients only having to pay interest if they sell the property, Politico reported. Newsom has declined to comment on whether or not he will sign the bill after some moderate Democrats joined Republicans in the California Senate in an attempt to block the legislation.

  5. seems to me like they are trying like mad to get normal people pissed off enough to do something. so they can crack down on us. like giving the illegals SSI money and food stamps. there are a LOT of people that are pissed at the shit the illegals are getting free that they themselves had to work for . just try to bring that up in the supermarket around here and you find out fast how most people feel about all the "goodies " they giving away to the illegals. or even at the gasoline station.

  6. How much money will Gavin be pulling out of his pocket to pay for this or is it only other people's money that is to be used?

  7. You all are overthinking this. Let Gabby Nuisance pass that brain-dead idea and it will exclude him from any shot at running for President for the rest of his life. The other 49 states will kick his ass so hard he will wear it for a hat!

  9. Even if it helps buy the house, it will not help maintain it. All it is doing is creating a ghetto. And just like student loans. If they know they the customer has a bunch of "free" (taxpayer) money, they will charge a lot more for nothing.

  10. Gavvy has painted himself into a corner - give the illegals their money so he can secure their illegal votes AND NOW he has to also give all the Blacks their reparation money so he can have their votes or do nothing and lose everyone's vote.

Well, it ain't his money so he will spend like a Trudeau.

  11. This is an outright betrayal of the citizens of California, or citizens of any other state for that matter. These funds could be used for veterans housing, trade school education, or any other needy cause for the states legal residents. It's time for the lampposts around the state capitol building to be put to good use.

  12. I'm sure the greasy little prick will sign it. After all...it's not his money. And in Kali the political consequences for him for not signing it are probably greater than anything that might happen if he does.

  13. More money available to people who can not otherwise afford to purchase a house will cause a spike in the price of housing not connected to supply/demand. Higher prices in turn put a strain on the mortgage industry as all customers strain to afford homes. Result: collapse of the mortgage market and cries for a federal bailout coming in 3...2...1...

    1. You have just described the results of unintended consequences, a concept no member of the Left has the slightest inking of what it's about.

    2. Pre 2008 meltdown my sister owned a mortgage brokerage in northern california. One thing that happened with skyrocketing home values was imigrants buying houses as a group then refinancing for cash out. They took the money & ran back to their home country. Walked away from the debt & kept the money.
