Have the political parties always held the positions they do today? Has the right moved further right, or the left further left?
The Republican Party of 2024 is far more liberal than the Democrat Party of the 1990s. With few exceptions, Republicans have consistently supported deficit spending, corporate welfare, and social welfare for decades now. This leaves many true conservatives looking like outliers.
To get a sense of just how much has been lost, it’s worth taking a look at one of the last consistently conservative American political movements: the Old Right.
What has been lost is your freedom. 300k federal laws and everyone is enforced at the point of a gun. Add in your state laws and "regulations" and it's hard to think you're a free person.
ReplyDeleteLet's not forget the 87,000 irs agents cackles had the deciding vote for....they aren't going after the illicit drug trade. They are coming for you.
ReplyDeleteFDR actually campaigned as being to the right of Hoover.
ReplyDelete#BlankTheDownBallot2024 The present Republican Party must be put out of business. Stop voting for your local RINO just because he's the lesser of two evils. Yes, it will take a long time for something else to spring up. Just write off the 21st century as a lost cause. Thanks a bunch, Paul Ryan, Kevin McCarthy, Marjorie Taylor Greene New Deal. Do it for the great great grandchildren. Maybe the 22nd century will be better.
ReplyDeleteI assume, according to history, there won't be any voting in the 22nd century if we fail to get things right in this century. It grows and festers if we put it off. Best to make efforts today to prevent a tomorrow our grandkids would hate.
DeleteConservatives just endeavor to lose more slowly. If the US still exists in 100 years, that generations conservatives will be defending tranny's rights and insisting pedophilia is just another sexual orientation. I'm thoroughly right wing, but I refuse to be identified with faggots like Buckley and David French. Nope.
