SACRAMENTO, Calif. - Low demand and falling oil costs mean gas prices are dropping across the country, but California is seeing gas prices increase.
According to AAA, the average price for a gallon of regular in California is $4.76 as of Thursday. That's up 10 cents from last week.

This morning it's $2.69 to $2.74 a gallon here in Lafayette.
About ten cents a gallon more than Lafayette prices up here in my corner of Ohio.
ReplyDeleteIt's $4.39 for Chevron in my podunk western town. What needs to be taken off line and cleaned out so it can do its job is the California legislature...
ReplyDeleteSame price in my podunk CA town, Pete. That means regular is now $1.70 more than it is in Lafayette, Tennessee. So, the premium paid between fuel and PG&E power here in Gavie's Utopia is probably more than a working man pays for his mortgage in a sane Red State.
DeleteAnd speaking of PG&E, they were just granted another rate increase by the CPUC. That will be the fourth rate increase this year.
I paid $3.45 at a Kroger in Dayton, OH on the 18th of August.
DeleteMd $3.09
ReplyDeleteCalifornia state and local taxes on gasoline (exist and state taxes) combined with all the regulatory BS oil companies and the gas stations have to put up with (including anti smog formulations) result in high prices. No one us gouging; gasoline is one of the most price competitive markets.
ReplyDelete"Low demand and falling oil costs" my big ol' butt. Prices will shoot up right after the election.
ReplyDeleteYep. Just like clockwork.
Delete$3.39 in Midland mi yesterday, haven't been out yet today.
ReplyDeleteI paid 2.80 a gallon for diesel yesterday in Texas. Regular 87 octane was just a bit cheaper. Back home I pay about 3.40 a gallon for diesel.
ReplyDelete3.50 to 3.75 in upstate New York. Gov. Hochuls playground.
ReplyDeleteGas at COSTCO on Long Island, NY is $2.89 today for regular. At gas stations, about 10 cents more.
ReplyDeleteI'm paying 4.50 for premium in Ogeron. Harley insists.
ReplyDelete$2.47 in Shreveport today

ReplyDeleteYou suck!
Gotta be Gropey Joe or Kameltoe draining the strategic oil reserves again right before the election. FJB, FKH
ReplyDeleteAnd FTW too.
