5) We moved to South Texas when I was a kid and one of those most difficult and shocking things I learned was that not only do the giant cockroaches that live there fly, when they do so they fly right at you.
Hate those MFing flying cockroaches. If you listen carefully, you can hear a shrill 'Banzai'. Could be worse though - imagine those cockroaches the size of a German Shepard.

Well before it hit Mississippi it made landfall in Plaquemines Parish, Port Sulphur, Empire area s in perticular.

DeleteWe kept a badminton racket handy. Nowadays, if I still lived there, I'd have one of those electric flyswatters that looks like a tennis racket.
