A SWAT Team Destroyed Their Home, Now This Family Is Going to the Supreme Court

KALISPELL, Mont.—Vicki Baker was ready to close the sale of her house in McKinney, Texas, in July four years ago. She and her new husband were settling into a new home in Montana. Her daughter, Deanna Cook, lived in the McKinney house pending the sale closing.

She said the future seemed as bright and boundless as the view from her Montana mountaintop home.

On July 25, 2020, the sale was canceled, the house had more than $50,000 in damage courtesy of the McKinney Police Department’s Special Weapons and Tactics team, and a fugitive was lying dead in what had been Baker’s master bedroom.

  3. Sue the ever-living shit out of the Mayor's Office and the City, then each individual officer involved. Make each officer go through Court and justify each and every last move they made was to ensure they minimized damage or consciously knew they were damaging private property - if they consciously didn't minimize, then they were intent on causing damage - if they didn't know, then they were not trained well enough and the City is at fault - if they didn't care, then dereliction of duty.
Hang at least one out to dry publicly and make an example.

    1. Qualified immunity. The cops will be very well trained in what not to say.

  4. But a city will pay a thug's family 26 million for od'ing on fentanyl and charge the cops with murder after they actually tried to save his useless ass.

    1. And there’s been many other examples of thugs getting rewarded for getting hurt while committing a crime. Arty

  6. I wonder just how much was stolen by the cops and don't think they wouldn't if they got the chance. I had a pistol stolen and recovered by the cops. I even had a receipt for it being in the property room. When I went to get it, it was not to be found. It had magically disappeared. Never did get it back. Supposedly the cops investigated but I was never told what they found and the corrupt city attorney refused to file any charges against the police.

  7. "Let me tell you something. They signed up to use their weapons. Most of them, all right. But they watch enough TV, so they know they have to weep after they use their weapons. There is no one more full of shit than a cop. Except for a cop on TV." When the opportunity arises, they use everything they can. They didn't steal your tax money to buy shit so it can collect dust.

    1. They have been become expert at denying due process IE: subverting "The Law." That's why it's known as "Just Us."

  8. The city offered $50k to settle, but she rejected it because she wanted them to pay for everyone in the future. Dumbass. Take the $50k and the W. Don't be a fuggin martyr. Should the cops have done that? No. Should the city pay when they do? yes. She had to tangle with them a bit but they offered to pony up.
