No comments. Huh. I liked this group. I'm so lonesome I could cry remake was damn good. Of course that might have pissed of some Hank fans. I get it. Misguided Angel ( soul like a Lucifer, black and cold like a piece of lead) good lyrics and Sweet Jane were damn good.
ReplyDeleteI first saw them on Saturday Night Live back in the late 80s and the two songs they did was Sweet Jane and Misguided Angel. I went down to the record store the next day and bought their Trinity Sessions.
DeleteTrue or not. I once read in the early days the band was practicing at a house. The present lead singer was the sister of one of the band members. Somebody asked her to sing a song and all kind of chuckled. When she finished no one was chuckling. They had found their lead singer. I guess she had a really rough time singing in public. If you watch early video's she looks terrified. In time she mellows out.
DeleteWhen I saw her on Saturday Night Live, she was so nervous she couldn't hardly raise her eyes to the camera. She looked down towards the floor the entire song.
DeleteDam, I never heard of these folks before. And I like them. Thanks for the heads up.
ReplyDeleteIf you decide to buy a CD, I'd suggest their Trinity Sessions. It's excellent.
DeleteIm not much for female lead singers but they are good.
ReplyDeleteCBJ, always good stuff. This takes me back to better times, thanks Ken.
ReplyDeleteI purchased their CDs in real time in the 90s as the group came along. Gotta dig them out of my dusty cd stash and run them in my truck. Thanks for the memory refresher.
