Your Thursday Morning Florida Report

A kangaroo survived a scare from a bear Thursday night in Florida, and now the search is on for the hopping marsupial.

Volusia Sheriff Mike Chitwood said in a Facebook post that the kangaroo escaped its enclosure and was spotted hopping along a road in Pierson, about 55 miles north of Orlando.

  4. Sheriff Mike Chitwood is a huge publicity whore. When he was police Superintendent in Upper Darby, a suburb of Philadelphia, he got more air-time than than just about any other elected/appointed official other than the mayor of Philadelphia.

    1. Shytewood must have taken lessons for San Antonio chief McAnus. All SAPD officers know to run for cover when the TV cameras come out as McAnus, the publicity whore here, will literally run them over to get in front of a camera

  5. Not something you would expect to see in Florida.
After the ostrich and emo farming scam fell apart I would occasionally see them running loose. There was a couple raising some a few miles away from me and the owners couldn't bring themselves to killing them I suppose so they turned them loose. Not gonna lie it was strange the first time I came across one while rabbit hunting.
