Celebrity endorsements: An American political fixture with questionable impact

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- In the 2024 presidential race, celebrity endorsements are increasingly taking center stage for both Kamala Harris and Donald Trump.

Big names like Beyoncé, Bad Bunny, Jennifer Lopez, Ricky Martin, and Taylor Swift have all supported Harris.

Just Sunday night, Elon Musk, Dr. Phil, and Hulk Hogan rallied with a crowd at Madison Square Garden to support Trump.

Celebrity endorsements are almost as stupid as the people that listen to them.
I could really give a fuck less about what somebody who doesn't live in my world thinks about anything, much less politics. Seriously, when was the last time you heard about Taylor Swift or Dr Phil bitching about spending at least a hundred bucks every time they walk into a store to shop for that night's dinner, or their rent going up 3 times in one year? The only opinion that matters then is mine and mine alone.

  1. Have you noticed all of the people who went to diddy's parties and or Epstein's island. Its almost like they have a common joy with Harris. Or maybe some with video evidence is blackmailing them or they know one candidate would hide their crimes and another would not

  2. If you don't have the capability to THINK for yourself or are AFRAID to do so, you should NOT be allowed to vote.

  3. Those popular folks can be as wrong as they want to be. But do not expect anyone to fund further wrong because they democratize an election into selection again. Their trash will become ungovernable.

  4. Dearly Beloved stated it was a shame Arnold is pushing Lalala for president. I replied I do my own research and don’t give a flying shit who endorses who.

  5. Agreed - the opinions of TV/Movie actors, professional athletes and other of similar ilk have no stake in what goes on in my life. For those who support my candidate - i already made my choice. To the others who support the other - your opinion means nothing to me - go sit on a chile.

  7. Far too many people are celebrity infatuated entertainment addicts in the US and they care what their pop singer or sportsballer player thinks. Probably the women - backbone of the Democracist Party - more than men, but also probably the majority of the population.

  10. Your point is well taken Kenny. There’s only one thing to remember - you are definitely not a moron. I can’t say the same about an awful lot of people. MartyB

Like I always say, I think everyone is entitled to my opinion.

  12. Don't give a rip about endorsements, but I do pay attention to what Musk is saying, and what he's up to. Like him or not, his actions are having an influence on our culture.

  13. Cant decide which is more pathetic: an entertainer that feels that its their mission to inundate me with their politics....OR, a politician that feels the need to be entertaining.
