D.O.G.E.: Our Last Chance

I fully believe that the biggest impact of Trump’s re-election is D.O.G.E.

I’ve long (at least 8 years) publicly maintained that the United States is due to end in its present form.  My earliest time for this to happen is 2025, and the latest I’d expect it to come is around 2040.  The three most likely candidates for the resulting body have been:

  1. It's got to happen NOW, right now, cut, cut, cut. A nation that's $40 trillion in debt cannot be "Great", now or again or ever. We don't have time to be debating is Program X "wasteful"? Is Program Y "wasteful"? Is Program Z "wasteful"? Everything needs to be cut, about 30% across the board ($2 trillion annual deficit out of $7 trillion annual spending) and if something is too important to be cut, then it has to be funded by steeper cuts out of the rest.

Bad news: James Comer has appointed Marjorie Taylor Greene to be head of a subcommittee on DOGE. Recall she pushed for the Debt Limit Increase in 2023, the $ 1.5 Trillion of walkin'-around money that Biden and Harris spent on Ukraine, envirofantasy, DEI, transsexuals, all the bad stuff. She pushed it to please her master, Kevin McCarthy. And that total phony Thomas Massie voted to increase the debt limit, too. Totally took the air out of the balloon as far putting any limits on Biden-Harris.

But oh my, we mustn't have a government shutdown, of course not. Stupid Republicans stab us in the back every time.

  2. They need to hold the fed accountable, just like their irs partners require of every legal citizen of the United States.

  3. There is no political solution. There just isn't. The government simply isn't going to cut itself. The patient is terminal. Look to you and yours.

  4. Yet one more government agency. It'll be as effective and entrenched as the Dept of Ed in a few years.

  5. This sounds like capitulation.

It was centered on a wolf for AG. Then Gaetz dropped out.

Now it's centered on D.O.G.E. For how long? What's next? I didn't expect the stupid party to fold so quickly. Maybe that's what the silence since the election was, making backroom deals with the Rs.

  6. they have no power to do anything. they'll make a ton of recommendations, we'll cheer, they'll hand them to congress and nothing will happen.

this is stupid. go back to sleep until the next election. most of you won't vote, so you sure as hell won't fight.

  8. Has anyone noticed how we cant have a govt shutdown due to the budget arguments or the world will end. But with COVID the govt was shutdown for a year and most never noticed and still to this day most departments only have 50% in office manning. The rest are fucking off at home claiming to work. The first thing to do is every fucking one goes back to the office or bye bye. If half the employees were off and no one noticed any difference then they aren't needed. Just ask Elon, he fired 70% of twitter employees and nothing changed...
