President-elect Trump announces Pam Bondi as his new pick for US attorney general.
That would be the same Pam Bondi NRA sued over denial of rights for 18-20-year-olds where the 11th Circuit, contrary to Bruen, “decided that historical sources from Reconstruction are more probative of the Second Amendment’s scope than those from the Founding.”
Republican Senate candidate Rick Scott has a mixed record on gun control. As governor of Florida, he signed some gun control measures into law, such as raising the minimum age to purchase firearms to 21 and implementing a three-day waiting period for gun purchases. However, he has also received high ratings from the National Rifle Association and has expressed support for Second Amendment rights.
ReplyDeleteEveryone was so Rick Scott for Senator Leader but it seems to me there are more than a few bad apples here .
JD
IIRC that came in the wake of that high school shooting in the Miami area
DeleteI like to think I had a hand in getting out rep fired. He had a solid A rating from NRA but he was lousy on the 2A.
DeleteThe same Pam Bodi that helped put a fake witness in the Travon, Zimmerman case trying to convict an innocent man.
ReplyDeleteYup, that's her. Did you know Angela Corey was Pam's campaign manager when she was running for AG?
DeleteWhile far better than the alternative, the Trump presidency isn't going to be "the Saviour of the Republic" many are expecting it to be. A little less perhaps, but more of the same ol',same ol'
ReplyDeleteThe only politician I've heard about that doesn't have a mixed bag on gun control is Clay Higgins.
ReplyDeleteThe rest all seem beholden to someone else (not constituents).
Trump isn't off to a great start with Gaetz (I liked him), Hegseth (seriously, wtf?), or any gun grabber (Bondi). TBH, I voted for Trump who was also pretty weak on 2A issues.
