It's a Sad Day

Hey, I just want to let y'all know I got word Sunday evening that my mother had died. Apparently she had a stroke, and went quickly and peacefully.

I know you're a caring and generous bunch of folks, but circumstances won't allow me to travel back to California for the funeral, so please do not send anything to help cover travel expenses. A moment of reflection on all of our mothers would be most appreciated, though.

I'm fine, but I am going to take a week off from the blog.
Thanks for your understanding.
-Kenny Lane

That's me leaning against the bridge trying to look cool.

  8. I am sad for you and Ms. Lisa, at your loss. It is especially tough to lose your mother, no matter how old you are.
I join with the many people who will no doubt tell you to take as long as you want and need. Some things are more important than a blog, even one as beloved as this one.

  26. Sad news, Kenny. We are captured on this earth in a body that is destined to fail, and when we are young that inevitable time is so far away. When the time comes there is shock and sadness, but a better life is after this one.
