I know you're a caring and generous bunch of folks, but circumstances won't allow me to travel back to California for the funeral, so please do not send anything to help cover travel expenses. A moment of reflection on all of our mothers would be most appreciated, though.
I'm fine, but I am going to take a week off from the blog.
Thanks for your understanding.

ReplyDeleteMy condolences, be grateful for the peaceful passing. I'm sure some reflection and self examination will be happening this week, best wishes to you and your family. I was 26 when my mom suicided in '77, with a handgun she requested for self protection while living in Palm Desert, for her health. Cronic, acute, pain from a car accident and botched back surgeries drove her to it. Took awhile to unpack that baggage.
ReplyDeleteCondolences and prayers for you and your family. Losing a family member, especially someone like a mother is tough, but even worse around a holiday.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry for your loss, Ken.

ReplyDeleteMy condolences. A quick and peaceful death is a shock, but having witnessed both kinds, I think it's preferable to one that is drawn-out and inevitable. May you and yours find acceptance and peace.
ReplyDeleteMy most heartfelt condolences. You and your family are in my prayers. I lost my mom 21 years ago this month and still not a day goes by where I don't think of her - and mostly the very best of memories of her. You'll mourn and that will slowly pass, but you'll always have those memories.
ReplyDeleteKen, my condolences. I lost my mother 8 years ago and I can honestly say that every week I get something in my head and I say: “Mom would remember that”. I hope your memories are good and you can replay those special moments back in your mind when you need to.
