    I've thought that Shirley Jones was a better singer than Julie Andrews, and I confess that I enjoyed The Partridge Family.

    As to Garner, well, I never cared for most of his work; this being the sole exception.

    I rode on a few of them. One time coming off Hill 55 hella de clatter. I think the driver was trying to be funny and knock us off. He'd come to a corner and lock up one side or the other I think just to be a prick. Amtracks now there was a nice smooth ride. Like a caddy compared to tanks.

      I did a 5 week TDY at McNair Barracks in 1993, about a year before the Berlin Brigade was flagged. That was a good time.
