CHEROKEE COUNTY, Ga. (Gray News) - A man in Georgia will spend a decade in prison after stealing $1.35 million from his mother.

Thomas Glenn North III, 64, pleaded guilty to 37 charges in a case “involving neglect, exploitation and theft” of his elderly mother.

  1. A fairly common thing among family-usually a man stealing from his mother or his sister. A friend of the family lost half her family in a home fire and later found out too late that her brother stole most of it from her after she entrusted him to handle her sizeable settlement.

    1. Usually a man? I've noticed it to be exactly the opposite, when it comes to rotten offspring stealing from mama.

    2. A million now is more like $200k in real purchasing power. You could blow through that in a year, especially if you have medical expenses.
