CHEROKEE COUNTY, Ga. (Gray News) - A man in Georgia will spend a decade in prison after stealing $1.35 million from his mother.
Thomas Glenn North III, 64, pleaded guilty to 37 charges in a case “involving neglect, exploitation and theft” of his elderly mother.
A fairly common thing among family-usually a man stealing from his mother or his sister. A friend of the family lost half her family in a home fire and later found out too late that her brother stole most of it from her after she entrusted him to handle her sizeable settlement.
ReplyDeleteUsually a man? I've noticed it to be exactly the opposite, when it comes to rotten offspring stealing from mama.
Delete10 years for 1.35 million? might be worth it
ReplyDelete135K a year, no overhead, 3 hots and a cot.
DeleteA million now is more like $200k in real purchasing power. You could blow through that in a year, especially if you have medical expenses.
DeleteIf he follows his payment plan, he will be in his 90s when he finishes.
