Tennessee - the new Florida

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — It’s no secret Tennessee’s population is growing, but one specific group is creating its own surge.

Seniors are the fastest-growing population in Tennessee, according to the Tennessee Department of Disability and Aging (DDA) , and the state is trying to get ahead of the silver wave.

  1. Retired progressive, seniors escaping the expensive, crime ridden north-east they created to bring their liberal shit culture to a red state.

    1. Not so fast. We moved here from red Florida. 2 reasons. Our oldest son lives here. The cost of living is ~50% lower here.

    2. Not every northeast transplant is a knee-jerk liberal looking to ruin your country idyll with leftist politics. My people bolted from Lawn Guyland, Noo Yawk for South Central Texas to get AWAY from the lunatics, because we got tired of being the only gun-totin' rednecks in Nassau County. By all means, be wary of the carpetbaggers. But don't tar us all with that terrible brush.

    3. Curb your ulcer, some of us are bringing our God, Guns, Guts and respect for the Constitution. I'd advise you don't eff with the Cali plates on my truck as they'll be changed out soon enough.

  5. Been looking at TN property. Found a nice acre with a big shop in Lebanon, but wife won't leave her mother-yet. So horny to get out of California.

  6. My hometown in East Tennessee has seen a few transplants, but they mostly seem to be conservative, Christian refugees from godless blue states. The ones that have joined my Mom’s church seem to want to fit right in.

  7. I was looking hard at Tennessee a few years ago. Ended up in a very conservitive area in Fl. Lots of Vets in this area too. Go in some diners and there are signs, stating their support of our Veterans and so many places I get a ten percent discount for being a Vet. No complaints but Tennessee sure is a beautiful state, especially the Smokies. I rode through it many times on a motorcycle. Ha, never been through it in a car come to think of it.
