NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — It’s no secret Tennessee’s population is growing, but one specific group is creating its own surge.
Seniors are the fastest-growing population in Tennessee, according to the Tennessee Department of Disability and Aging (DDA) , and the state is trying to get ahead of the silver wave.
Retired progressive, seniors escaping the expensive, crime ridden north-east they created to bring their liberal shit culture to a red state.
ReplyDeleteNot so fast. We moved here from red Florida. 2 reasons. Our oldest son lives here. The cost of living is ~50% lower here.
DeleteNot every northeast transplant is a knee-jerk liberal looking to ruin your country idyll with leftist politics. My people bolted from Lawn Guyland, Noo Yawk for South Central Texas to get AWAY from the lunatics, because we got tired of being the only gun-totin' rednecks in Nassau County. By all means, be wary of the carpetbaggers. But don't tar us all with that terrible brush.
DeleteCurb your ulcer, some of us are bringing our God, Guns, Guts and respect for the Constitution. I'd advise you don't eff with the Cali plates on my truck as they'll be changed out soon enough.
DeleteAs a Floridian, I am delighted with this trend!
ReplyDeleteI might be one of them if Michigan keeps it up!
ReplyDeleteAfter Christmas, every year, this Michigander stays on I75 until I hit Florida. Tennessee isn't warm enough in the winter, though i think its a much more interesting state.
DeleteIf I was going to move out of state again Tennessee would be my choice

Been looking at TN property. Found a nice acre with a big shop in Lebanon, but wife won't leave her mother-yet. So horny to get out of California.
ReplyDeleteCheck out the Danbridge area, nice little city right on Douglas Lake not far from Knoxville.....

My hometown in East Tennessee has seen a few transplants, but they mostly seem to be conservative, Christian refugees from godless blue states. The ones that have joined my Mom’s church seem to want to fit right in.
ReplyDeleteI was looking hard at Tennessee a few years ago. Ended up in a very conservitive area in Fl. Lots of Vets in this area too. Go in some diners and there are signs, stating their support of our Veterans and so many places I get a ten percent discount for being a Vet. No complaints but Tennessee sure is a beautiful state, especially the Smokies. I rode through it many times on a motorcycle. Ha, never been through it in a car come to think of it.
ReplyDeleteIn the winter I go to Okeechobee, mainly conservative cow country. If you want resorts and beaches you go elsewhere. Side note- lot of Canadians especially French Canadians. They are OK.
DeleteI came to TN 12 years ago; not quite retirement age but close. I was escaping the heat and outrageous property tax rates in TX. I love it here in rural TN (reminds me of my haunts in my home state of VA) and have tried to fit in. The folks here are wonderful and the quality of life better than other places I have lived. YMMV of course, but this is God's country and I live a gracious life.
ReplyDeleteI couldn't have said it better.
DeleteHere in the SC Lowcountry, we get lots of "Halfbacks" that move from FL to escape hurricanes & libturd Yankees. The same applies to Western & Coastal NC.
ReplyDeleteMany, many Central TN folks sold their houses to the "refugees" fleeing effed-up blue states, made a killing, then swarmed North Alabama like locusts. And my lord, these idiots can't drive for sh*t. Traffic is now a huge pain. Every one of 'em drives with a durn cell phone in their right hand. Idiots. So for me, it's the dang Blue-n-White Tennessee tag that makes my blood boil. You've lived here two or three years people. When are you going to register your car in Alabama?
