The Age of Incremental War

Clever and calculating dictators have been manipulating and taunting the United States and the West for decades. Russia, Iran, and China, let's call them the RICs, are the masters of this game.

All three countries are engaging in a low-level shadow war against the world order.

Russia is waging an expansive cyber war against the U.S. and NATO while pursuing multiple high-intensity mini-wars against neutral European countries, Iran is supporting violent proxy armies and terrorist acts throughout the Middle East, and China is aggressively forcing its way into the South China Sea waters claimed by Vietnam, the Philippines, Brunei, Indonesia, Taiwan, Malaysia, and Vietnam. It is also extensively hacking American infrastructure.

  1. The US, Canada, western Europe, Australia and NZ (so basically western powers in general) have been the progenitors of shit-tier leftist garbage policies as regards both economic and social matters for decades now. What is essentially the "rules based international order" TPTB so smugly refer to. With that in mind, why wouldn't other major powers oppose its imposition on them?

Further, why should I be opposed to Russia and China (mostly) trying to destroy a way of thinking and governing that is as detrimental to the future of the US and other western countries, as it is to my personal existence? Now, the enemy of my enemy is not my friend, but if they can be useful towards deposing the wankers who are wrecking my home and it's culture, I'll take the assistance in achieving a common goal of their destruction.

And while I don't trust Russia and China, neither do I trust the government of any of the countries (including the US) that are being challenged by them. So, the RICs become temporarily useful in defeating the people who have taken over and wrecked western society. Given the forces working against us domestically, we can certainly use the help in weakening their grip. I'd prefer not to have to lean on the efforts of foreign powers to do this, as I know they are not ultimately working to my benefit, but for the moment the actions they take to undercut this arrogant, out of control government are, in fact, helpful to my interests.

What they've managed to do in proving that NATO is a paper tiger via Ukraine has been most revelatory. And while that may cause some people in the west discomfort, it Also helps prove that the assholes that have been running the west are neither infallible, nor incapable of being challenged and beat back. I'll consider that a small, but informative victory. To my way of thinking, the frustration and embarrassment this has caused the "rules based international order" is something to be relished, not regretted.

  2. Hell, I'd like to be "waging an expansive cyber war against NATO" myself. And the UN as well. I'm not a nation-state so memes it is.

    1. Heh. Look up the SF novel “Wasp” by Eric Frank Russel. Quick read, done partly in humor about a saboteur sent to an alien world to destabilize their society. Memes make a difference. Bumper sticker wisdom is _seen_ and makes a point.
