Commentary: Mexico Knows Exactly What It Is Doing

President-elect Donald Trump recently had a “talk” with newly elected Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum about the millions who have crossed through Mexico to enter the U.S. illegally.

Afterwards, Trump reported that their conversation went well, and supposedly both had agreed to secure the U.S. border.

But given long-standing, de facto Mexican policy to rely on and profit from an open U.S. border, it was not long afterwards that Sheinbaum (pictured above) claimed she had not been so accommodating.

  1. Mexican here. Send them all back to Mexico. Seal the border, deport each on, put employers in jail min 2 yr and 5 yr max, PER violation. They drive down wages, fill our schools / jails / courts, refuse to learn English, and can't open one decent Mexican restaurant in Houston, lol!

  2. Yep. And, for the first time since about Teddy Roosevelt, Mexico is going to run up against someone who won't play. Three fourths of Mexico's exports go to the US. A big chunk of their income comes from Mexican remittances from the US. If the US wants to make Mexico toe the line, we have the handle. Be interesting to see whether we use it.

  3. Its hard to remember that the President of Mexico is called Claudia Sheinbaum. Is there a politician in Germany called Hector Lopez?

  5. As long as it is the US that rejects the border crossers and not mexico, the cartels will let the mexican president live another day.

  9. We might not be able to stop the flow of personal money sent from here to MOM and DAD in other countries but we could tax the banks and businesses that profit from the money flow therefore making it cost prohibitive to be in that business. Tax it 100%

  10. Screw Mexico, or at least their gooberment. We had a little dust-up with them back in 1916-1917 and should do it again. The cartels are just “war by other means” and the fact that they are facilitating the flow of Chinese drugs over the border, to say nothing of non-Western Hemisphere peoples means that we should regard them as non state actors and deal with them accordingly. You cannot tell me that NSA and the DIA don’t know exactly who, what, where, and when with regards to these vermin. Full bore cross border raid, confiscation of physical cash and evidence and no mercy to anything that picks up so much as a rock to resist.
A very public spanking of their leaders as well.

  11. Those that file taxes are not required to show proof that their dependents actually exist. So, using 9 dependents eliminates all income tax. Then they send the Lion's share of their wages back home leaving only money for necessities and contributing very little to our economy. They can collect SS after contributing for 10 years. Most that I've spoken to have no intention of working to 65. There should be a mandatory 20% income tax until they become citizens. Then we'll only see those that intend to be citizens
