  1. #5 Why is that crossing gate on the wrong side of the track? It should be on the traffic side.
#7 Trucker anticipated that guy was going to pull out in front of him.

    1. Where I live currently I anticipate everyone is going to pull out in front of me.

    2. The DMV in Maryland should swap that great, big "E" on the vision test for a picture of my apparently invisible Tacoma.

  2. There is, in fact, a crossing gate on the side of the road the driver was on before they had to take evasive action. The crossing gate seen lowering at the end of the video is for the pedestrian walkway/bicycle path. None of the crossing gates activated in time to prevent a collision, thus creating an enormous liability risk for the railroad.

  6. #3 - I don't think that I have ever seen a surfer do this. It is pretty cool.

  7. I am betting that both drivers are screaming, "Oh $hit NO!!!" over and over again.

  9. #7- I have had to unload trucks from my former employer, which had to lock them up shortly after leaving our dock. We shipped 40,000# of steel, packed in 55 gal. drums, and lined up in a row from the front of the trailer to the back. With two by fours nailed on each side to prevent slipping during transport from Michigan to San Diego and other western places, like Ogden, Utah and Spanish Fork.
Not only did we have to unload the trailer but we also had to pick each ingot up and repack it in new drums. The biggest problem was that we shipped 2 heats of 20,000# each, so we also had to sort them out, using the jet ink sprayed on each one. I personally had to help do this twice, but it happened at least 2 other times that I know of. Car drivers have no idea how hard it is to stop a loaded trailer. This was when we had our own trailers, with a huge dragon painted on the side. So if you ever saw one of them, it was from Muskegon, Michigan, and maybe even going to Prescott, AZ to Sturm-Ruger manufacturing facility. We sent a bunch of metal to them there and also to Pine Tree Castings, in Newport, New Hampshire, another Sturm-Ruger casting facility.

  10. #2 Looked like the octopus/squid had a piece of metal embedded in it. Hook? Amazing.

    1. The octopus was translucent. I think that's just how its pupil looks from the side.

  12. Starker here,
When I was a kid caught some minnows from a stream to put in a fish tank. I wanted to see how big the got. People used to say that they were fry and would become large. I also got water sand & rocks from the stream. It went fine for a few days. Then fish started disappearing. It was a week in when I discovered that I had also gotten a hellgrammite! They are just about as nasty as #9. Never did get to see how big they got. But now I know they were full size.
