SACRAMENTO, Calif. (KGO) -- In anticipation of lawsuits against the incoming Trump administration, Gov. Gavin Newsom is asking state legislators to set aside $25 million to create a litigation fund.
The money will be set aside for the California Department of Justice to fight the federal government in the courts, the governor's office said Monday, with the goals of safeguarding "critical funding for disaster relief, health care and other vital services" Californians depend on.
I dont think a legal slush fund will make a difference. They will spend it regardless.

ReplyDeleteMoney is fungible. This is simply an excuse to make more money available and, eventually, untraceable. California government readily loses track of billions. No one will ever notice or ask where this money eventually goes. The only thing certain is that it won't go to defend against federal lawsuits.
