Jim Clyburn Reveals He Told Biden’s Staff to Push President to Pardon Trump

Democratic South Carolina Rep. Jim Clyburn disclosed on Thursday that he has urged President Joe Biden’s staff to get him to issue a “preemptive” pardon for President-elect Donald Trump.

Clyburn, who helped save Biden in the 2020 primary with an endorsement, is one of several prominent Democrats to suggest that the president should pardon Trump following his pardon of his son Hunter on Sunday. The South Carolina representative, on NewsNation’s “The Hill,” said that while he has not yet spoken to Biden himself about the matter, he told the president’s staff that he should weigh issuing multiple “preemptive pardons,” including for Trump.

  1. Translation: We scared 'n sheeit. For the last two years Clyburn has echoed the "Trump is guilty" line but now wants to try the forgive & forget maneuver, hold hands & sing kumbaya.

    2. What a crock of shit!
Clyburn would rather go broke, (heaven forbid), than have anyone consider a Trump pardon.

  2. I've thought this for a while now. Just pardon him for all historic stuff, the trump should get in and do likewise. Quit wasting our taxpayer money and time with the lawfare crap and actually focus on trying to fix the country.

    1. That would just invite continued attacks. The only way to stop lawfare is to make examples of the people who used it. Hold them accountable for their crimes and bring them to justice. Jail them, fine them, and sue them into penury.

    2. cj: A great way to fix the country is to expose and prosecute all those who tried to destroy it over the last four years. Are we going to give a pass to Ray Epps? The shooter of Ashli Babbit? How about all of those Orcs and Orcettes at the FBI who tried with all their might to destroy Trump? The Donald needs to channel Vito and Michael Corleone. His supporters expect it.

    3. Fixing criminal behavior involves more than just putting bigger locks on the front door. It also involves building prisons and locking up the criminals. That prison serves two purposes; 1) punishment for the convicted criminal, 2) deterrent for the would be criminal.

    4. Not saying it's right, but how much time has continuously been wasted with prosecution that started even before the first time Trump took office? Then endless back and forth constant lawsuits. Otherwise it just turns into an idiotic continuous pissing match about who controls the most judges. Justice randomly gets served and we spin and spin with years of continued lawfare attacks, so the other side does it back. Be the bigger side and get it done. Otherwise, you're just trying to piss on others in the wind. Stop the cycle and show how idiotic the other side is when they try to keep doing it.

Probably wrong and probably drinking too much, but the current path is such a waste of time and effort and doesn't change anything.

  3. Pretty empty since the Democrats are using state lawfare against Trump.

  4. Sure he did, the same way a drunk steps behind his buddy saying "Hold me back".

  5. Reporter: Mr Trump are you grateful President Biden has pardoned you?

Trump: No. And I won't accept it, the pardon....I've done nothing wrong...I don't need, want, and will not accept, a pardon.

  6. Biden would be better served and help his legacy more by issuing a blanket pardon to all the "J6ers".
