Transitioning out of his Marine Corps service, Wesley Swainston has been exercising the dogs at a shelter, combining two of his passions: training dogs and running.
But the impact of what the 28-year-old Marine has been doing goes way beyond just pursuing his hobbies. Running the dogs and training them also helps the shelter find forever homes for these needy furballs.

How about that? A Marine angel. Good on you, sir!
ReplyDeleteKind of a reverse Guess-the-race story, and yep, he's White.
ReplyDeleteI bet it does wonders for the dogs who otherwise be stuck in a shelter all day.
ReplyDeletemore than one of the pound hounds I have brought home really got great after leaving the shelter. never got a dog from a breeder, always went to the pound to find one.
best dog I ever had was a 20 dollar pound hound. GS/LAB/whatever mix of 85 pounds when he filled out. used to run with me as well. I did 4-5 miles and he did 10-12 easy.
had to put him down at 17. blind, hard of hearing, hip joints going bad fast.
but the vet said he heart and lungs where sound. but I couldn't stand watching him fall down while trying to walk across the kitchen. a part of me died the day I put him down
Jack was a great dog. it was just too hard to watch him in pain. regardless of the pills I got from the vet to help him out. dave in pa.
We salute you and it’s getting kinda dusty in here
