Breastfeeding mother’s struggle to get out of jury duty sparks change with new exemption

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC/Gray News) - Only days after a breastfeeding mother summoned for jury duty was forced to bring her 3-month-old daughter to an Alabama courthouse, the state Supreme Court declared breastfeeding women should be excused from the civic responsibility.

  2. If some piece of shit judge (government lawyer) threatens my kids because I place their welfare over what is convenient for the judge there is going to be a problem. IF they actually involve the State in my kids, there will be consequences.

  3. Seems to me that most of our ire (and retribution for what is wrong with the state of things) should be directed at these black robed bastards. They are the real pains in the ass, whose specially granted authority is so frequently abused with no accountability whatsoever.

  4. As if a brand new mother wouldn't be at the top of the defense attorney's list, even before the clergy, of people to get dismissed from sitting on a jury if their client hurt or killed a child.

  5. The ex brought the breast feeding infant with her to jury duty. They wanted to postpone her service by a month and make her show up again. She protested, aid she was there to do her civic duty, and would just bring the little one into the jury box. She wore them down and they just canceled her summons.
