California: Rules are rules

Those 60 engines sent yesterday to the Cali fires are not on the fire lines...yet.

They've been ordered to submit to a DOT inspection in Sacramento that's scheduled for 4:30 pm today.

  1. You know what would fit right where this fire is? An olympic stadium the LA is scheduled to host.

  2. That's when the appropriate response is 'Screw you guys, I'm going home'.

  4. The correct response is either turning around, or telling them "eff you, we're going. If you don't like it, arrest us and impound our vehicles. We'll be livestreaming it"

  5. Us folks in Western NC have been seeing very low temperatures for over a week and we're expecting a snow storm today. The Democrat governor has waved weight restrictions on Propane and other fuel vehicles to keep the home furnaces heaters going. Yea he's a Democrat but not a California Democrat.

  6. You know, 6.1 million Californians voted for Trump. That's over three times my states population. While some of their problems can damn sure be blamed on poor leadership, it should be remembered that that area has always burned, since before Christ. I lived out there for almost five years and met a lot of damn fine people. I don't wish that misery on anyone. Eod1sg Ret

  7. had a couple of uncles that moved out there in the 1930's. they had all left by 1988 or so.
moved back to eastern KY. and the main reason was. "things are getting really stupid out there" both of them had small farms out that way, just south of San Fran. they sold out for
"big bucks" as they called it and retired in style back home.
God only knows what they would say about the stupid shit they doing now out there !
but someone coming to help you out with a fire and you want to check them out first ?
fuck it, I turn around too and leave. dave in pa.

  8. There's not any sources for this other than the original X post. It appears to be fake news.

  9. Just when you thought it couldn't get any more screwed up in SoCal, I just discovered that Karen Bass' pick to head the Department of Water and Power at a salary of $750,000 a year was previously a senior vice president at PG&E. She's the person who attempted to explain why the hydrants went dry on the first night of the Palisades Fire.

  10. It used to be that during periods of high winds, high fire danger norcal depts would send equipment to socal in advance. And when norcal had high fire danger socal would do the same.
