      Something really stout was caught between the ceiling and the escalator, the escalator gave up first.

      Yeah, but what the hell is the giant black object, and how did it get there? Looks too big and heavy to have been carried on to the escalator. It almost looks like some sort of instrument case, but I can't think of an instrument that large and durable to do that kind of damage.
