Not all heroes wear capes

(AP) - Spotting a dog struggling to stay afloat in a icy Vermont river, Chris MacRitchie never hesitated.

He jumped into the frigid waters and waded over to the dog, gently pulling it ashore, where his wife draped it with a sweatshirt. The dramatic rescue on Jan. 10 in Berlin was caught on video by his son and was shared widely on social media.

  1. Speaking of the cold, how are you doing with the cold weather that is in your area?

    1. I'm doing fine. It's a bit nippy out there at 2 degrees F, but I don't have any reason to go outside other than feeding and watering my chickens.

    3. That's good to know, your area doesn't get the frozen water very often, from what I am reading about this morning.

    5. Grog, these temps are pretty much normal for this time of the year. We've actually had a pretty mild winter so far - we've gotten only 2 inches of snow this winter and temps have been in the 40s up until the past couple of weeks, and we're looking at temps in the 40s again starting this weekend.
