Tennessee: Fuck 'em

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Despite the Department of Justice announcing it will no longer use the single lethal injection drug, pentobarbital in executions after a review raised questions about whether it causes “unnecessary pain and suffering,” the Tennessee Department of Correction (TDOC) still plans to use the drug, which was included in its new execution protocol completed last month.

  1. Californians voted for the death penalty and Gavin newscum shut it down immediately. You can't hate this asshole enough.

  2. Why not just use the French method, its quick and effective and over in less than 1 second.

    Guillotine anyone?

Or just go back in history and a bullet to the head and make the family pay for the bullet.
Cant understand why we have to be concerned about pain and suffering of brutal scumbags...

    1. public executions (per guillotine) will do much to reduce crime

    2. I agree, Boron, but the spectacle of someone doing the Oklahoma air dance gets the point across without the need to clean up blood. Aaanndd rope never gets dull.

  3. Nitrogen asphyxiation works perfectly fine, the equipment can't be blocked by militant doctors, and based on 1000s of confined space accidents is painless. Any writhing during administration is a probably acting, enough it makes sense to NOT announce when the gas feed is changed to pure nitrogen instead of compressed air.

    1. The only symptom of nitrogen asphyxiation the person should feel is slight dizziness followed by loss of consciousness. It really is an ideal way to go.

    2. The reason they know is because of the temperature drop when the nitrogen reaches their face. I agree it's pure acting. Offer the condemned a choice of nitrogen or being removed from humanity in the exact same way their victims died.

  5. Funny, how pentobarbitol was used for decades, on millions of people, to induce anesthesia - and not one complained about "pain and suffering" .

Also, if someone complains about "pain and suffering" after their execution , there was some incompetence by the executioner .

  6. If it's good enough for Ferdinand the bull strap down the criminal and apply a Penetrating captive bolt to the skull before the lethal injection. That way the barbiturate won't cause undue suffering.

    1. And in the case of rapists apply it to their testicles.

  7. I’m not a proponent of capitol punishment but if its the law where you are at, ask your local veterinarian what they use and up the dosage. I’ve had to have several pets euthanized and they’ve gone quick and quiet. I dont believe that we dont have commonly used drugs that properly administered wont quietly shuffle your ass off to buffalo.

    1. I've been there when the "vet" fuqued up the dosage. To say I was pissed would be putting it mildly. RIP Kodi Boy.

    2. a good "vet" will weigh the dog to find the right dose. we found a good one when it was time to put our good boy down. he was in a lot of pain and it showed too.
the vet doped him up to he was relaxed and then gave him the shot.
she was crying as much as we where at the end. Slim was a vey good boy. RIP buddy.. and it took a few days to find a vet willing to do that even ?

    3. We've only had to do it once. Our old 18 year-old GSW mix reached the end. It was two shots: one to sedate him and one to stop his heart. It took only seconds. The vet got to watch an old man cry. We're facing another one one of these days. It's a contest between me and her.

  8. I admit that I used to be very pro-capital punishment; now I don't believe the government should have that sort of power. J6 is a prime example of why I don't want the government to have that power; Pelosi and the other Democrats would have gladly executed the J6 defendants.

  9. I'm in favor of a large IV air bolus. No expensive drugs.

  10. Reflecting on way some of these death row inmates killed their victims, the amount of pain they suffer at execution is of no concern to me. If the death penalty were more painful, perhaps it would give pause to the criminal element not to kill their victims.

If you want no pain, an injection of 500 mg. of morphine sulfate or 5 mg. of fentanyl or nitrogen asphyxiation will make the person to be executed lose consciousness, feel no pain, and then die of respiratory arrest. Any anesthesiologist will tell you that a moderate overdose of the anesthetic, whether it be gas or an injectable anesthetic, will kill the patient without pain.

  11. As a veterinarian, I've had to euthanize hundreds of animals over the last 40 years, all using a pentobarbitol-based solution. 99.9% have just drifted quietly off to sleep, sometimes with a few deep breaths, but rarely any anxiety or evidence of discomfort.
Never understood the apparent difficulties some of these states have sending condemned murderers on their way.
    Let me at them.
Heck, if they can't get an intravenous catheter in, just inject a 50% larger dose into the abdominal cavity, and they'll just drift off to sleep, albeit a little more slowly.
    A . 22 hollow-point is cheaper.
