"WHAT? You're still alive???"

Two families are suing a Washington state hospital after one family removed a loved one from life support — only to later find out that the man who died was actually their loved one’s roommate.

  3. "Group home" nursing homes are shitholes you have to go everyday to see loved ones or somebody needs to check. Maybe confusion wouldn't have happened if someone cared enough to visit. Just saying.....oh well easy money to be had by everyone.

    1. Seems to me that if the families conspired to make this “mistake” occur, then major payday.

    2. Frequent-as-is-reasonable visits ARE EVERYTHING if you're unfortunate enough to have a family member in any kind of long term care. It might not actually save him or her but it's by far the best thing you can do.

The staff at my dad's care home knew me, my brother, my mom, and maybe most importantly our dogs (who were always the highlight of everyone's day.) I can't say he got special treatment but he certainly wasn't neglected.

  8. My brother in laws mom had dementia and is in a care facility. She has been in a couple as they try to find one with good care. Even though they have money, they cant find one that satisfies them. They hired my daughter to go to the facility daily, feed her her supper, insure she is bathed and receives her meds. Having someone come in daily does affect the quality of care you receive. If you dont have money and family things arent going to go well.
