In Texas, you are required to tell an officer if you have a CCL and hand it over (the license) when stopped. Only had one encounter and he did not ask to see my weapon or get out of the car. Made sense to me. Here in West Virginia, I think the police just naturally assume everyone is armed because, well, damn near everybody is. For snakes and such... Eod1sg Ret
So why did she try to disarm him ? He wasn't a danger to her, does that department have a policy of disarming everyone during a traffic stop ? Anyway glad he's going to be ok and she's no longer on the street as a cop JD
"...does that department have a policy of disarming everyone during a traffic stop?"
Whether any of them will admit it or not, they do. Once you tell them you are armed or otherwise have a firearm anywhere in the car the first question is, "Do you mind if I take possession of it during this stop, for my safety?" I pissed one off once by replying, "What about my safety?" He asked what I meant. I said, "If you take my pistol then you're the only one here with a firearm." He said, "I'm a police officer." I replied, "So?" Yeah, he wasn't pleased.
Yes they had an "optional" to disarm policy. The chief nixed that policy after stating she should not have disarmed him for a traffic ticket. She got fired fairly quickly. It's generally a bad idea to keep low IQ, bad judgement, clumsy, idiots on a job that has serious requirements. I'll bet there's plenty of "reviewing policies" at that department. It sounds like that chief may be on the ball.
Why did he need to be removed from the vehicle and disarmed. He was not a threat and being cooperative. As a police officer, I have had many traffic stops where the subject was armed and had a CCL and informed me. I would thank them for telling me and ask them to keep their hands where I could see them...that was all. Absolutely no need to disarm them. In fact, I would say it is more of a danger taking the person from their vehicle, as now they have freedom of movement.
I wonder if this was policy or not. I see that now they enacted policy where you simply leave the person be. And why is it always the female cops that do this stupid shit. There were more than a few of these newly hired cops in my dept where the sole qualification was a vagina. Some women should NOT be given a job because they simply check off a box. QUALIFICATIONS MATTER.

I see they conveniently left out the footage of her inserting two fingers into the trigger guard as she was removing the firearm. Dumb bint.
ReplyDeleteAlso, she negligently discharged the firearm, not accidentally. There, I fixed it for them.
He ran a red light. What the fuck did they need to pull him out of the car for. Because he's black, maybe?

ReplyDeleteThat's not the case in Florida. Because fuquem.
DeleteShe will just jump to another jurisdiction, they always take care of their own.
ReplyDeleteI watched all the videos. That dude is gonna be rich.
They should not have disarmed him, she was too weak to draw the weapon, pulling and twisting and ended up grabbing thru the guard and bang.
At least the department fired her. Some wouldn't.
ReplyDeleteThere are so many layers of stupid here
ReplyDeleteAnother example of where Women, Law Enforcement and Elected Political Positions should be mutually exclusive
ReplyDeleteYou are never in more danger than when the police are around.

ReplyDeleteThey did. Then it was canceled when someone higher up the food chain figured out the "bad optics".
