Commentary: The Left and Global Elites Misunderstand Trump’s Popularity

President Donald Trump is popular among just over half the country – with a recent YouGov poll showing 49 percent of Americans have a favorable view of the president while 48 percent have an unfavorable view. That said, support for the bedrock of Trump’s America First governing philosophy extends well beyond support for Trump himself.

Trump’s popularity is baffling to those on the left and to certain so-called global allies who are in shock over our decision to re-elect him. But what the global political apparatus really missed leading up to Trump’s second victory – and historic win of the popular vote – is just how popular Trump’s ideas are, far beyond his base, and far beyond how people feel about Trump himself.

  1. That 48% number is self-aggrandizing bullshit, and they know it.

    1. "48% of registered Democrats we polled stated the following..." Standard operating procedure.

  2. It took me awhile to get Trump, I never watched any programs or tv shows with him..... I thinkI get him now, he's a big thinker that comes up with ideas and throws them out to us, sometimes he acts on them other times it's morphed into another.. He speaks plan English and seemingly gives everyone their chance to do so as well... He's not a stuffed shirt politician constantly trying to shame us for loving our country.. After the dismissal presidents, Carter, Clinton, both Bushes, Ofambass and the scam slo joe Trump is a breath of fresh air..

  3. The Left and Global Elites are pompous assholes and live in a fantasy world of denial when certain indications go against their master plan sort of like the Hollywood assholes. Then when their denial collapses they throw temper tantrums.

  4. The fact the democrats picked David Hogg to lead the DNC is proof enough of how completely out of touch they are.

If they don't get a clue, they'll go the way of the whigs. I don't think they'll get a clue. I hope the libertarians will replace then as a major party, but it could be the greens.

  5. Put it another way, these elites fail to understand why their ideas have not gained traction.

  6. As a Canadian, I truly appreciate the president for making us collectively wake up and realize that we actually care about and love our own nation. There's a sudden "buy Canadian" frenzy that's been lit here and it's not going away anytime soon.

And I'm hopeful this will restore some long beaten-out-of-us pride in who we are, and we can finally start standing up to those who want to tear us down from within, and maybe we can start telling certain people to stick their land acknowledgements of their collective asses, and stop blaming White people for shit that happened a century ago. GET OVER IT.

Removing Trudeau from power will be a cathartic and cleansing experience for us, and even though we'll be replacing him with a different kind of idiot, it will still be a huge step in the right direction.

    1. I believe the best thing our countries can do is to form an alliance and be good neighbors. There's nothing wrong with being proud of your country and support the economy of it but it can't come at the expense of your neighbor counties..
A free man makes decisions on what's best for him and his but that means being responsible for that.
Good luck with righting your ship..

    2. Our countries had an alliance that extended over 200 years. Canada and the US agreed on basically everything. Canada supported the US in every war that the US entered (and there have been quite a few wars). 5 years ago Trump negotiated a trade agreement agreement with Canada. An agreement that Trump called the best trade deal in history.
Trump scrapped that agreement and our shared history because reasons, freedom, fentanyl, DEI, 51st state and god knows what!

It is very hard to trust the guy that attacks you and scraps an agreement he himself put together for no good reason. Talk to me in 4 years and I may be willing to hear your reasons. Today you can go fuck yourselves.

    3. Hey, I've got an idea! Fix your own fucked up country before you start talking shit about ours. Now go kneel before Trudeau.

    4. When I read your first post I thought I was talking to a fairly intelligent person but I was wrong... So being that's the case...
How about this then, Canada pays 100% of it's costs, from now on.. 100% of it's manufacturing, construction, infustructre, it's security costs and while we're at it 30% tariff on everything coming down into the United States.. Oh and while we're on a roll a 100% tariff on very cubic foot of fuel on those pipe lines that Canada uses to ship fuel east to west and vice versa that comes into our side of the border...
Do you feel better now idiot

  7. I do not believe that poll result.
Where are the Idgas people, the "who he?" people, the substantial minority who could not read the poll question, those who asked " what are you offering? " , those who ran and his when they saw a besuited person approaching with a clip-board? Not to mention all the deceased who voted Democrat?
