WESTLAKE, Ohio (WOIO/Gray News) - Security cameras are typically installed to deter crime.
However, an Ohio woman said she became a stalking victim after she had cameras installed.
According to the Westlake Police Department, they received a call from the woman, who is a business building property manager, on Dec. 16, 2024.

ReplyDeleteIn the security industry - cameras are referred to as a "Detective Control". The locked door is a deterrent. The camera is there to tell you what happened AFTER the incident is over. In some limited cases, they do deter people. In many others they don't. Just look at road rage incidents on youtube. There are far more that are not deterred by the camera then are.
