Marx-Inspired U.S. History Textbook Used by 1-in-4 Classes ‘Aims to Misinform,’ Report Finds

The textbook, “A People’s History of the United States,” used in as many as one and four high school history classrooms, misinforms students and borrows from Karl Marx to present American history as a “conflict between capital and labor,” according to a new report.

  2. Howard Zinn’s book.
Not a bad read, honestly. There is a lot in there that you’re not exposed to in fourth grade history class. That said, like a lot of books, having read other things first and being able to contextualize what the author is trying to do and why is paramount. A lot of guys are (rightly) anticommunist…but have never read Marx.

    1. We don't need to read Marx to be anticommunist - we all know how it works out.

    2. Know your enemy. They wrote an entire book about how they get to their endpoint. Alinsky did the same thing. This is why some people raised alarm bells very early with the transformation of America-because they bothered to read what the enemy said in his own words -while most people are completely clueless as to what was going on.

  5. Anyone who is surprised by this hasn't been paying attention. And probably still sends their kids to the government run schools.
