I was going to point out the horror of being a Dallas fan for the past 20+ years, but will willingly concede that being a Minnesota fan really has to suck. A lot. I mean more than I can describe. ;-)
I've found every one I launched. Sometimes it took a while. Gave up on one, but found it in my shoelaces that night. Cancelled the order... Ortgies firing pin spring was particularly troublesome.
I have a Browning SA-22 rifle. It has a barrel take down system that works quite well. That is, until you turn the knurled knob too far and tiny parts and springs, under great tension, launch themselves into orbit, never to be seen again.
When doing a complete take down I've learned to put a towel over it.
When I was in basic training, my battle buddy took apart the extractor from the bolt of his M-16. He dropped both the spring and the retaining pin….in a leafy area….after being told very specifically not to break the weapon down that far. May arms still hurt from all the push-ups we had to do, and that was 35 years ago.
#1 - The safety detent on a Sig P-938 is a vanishingly small object. One of my kids was in the process of moving out and had a whole pile of computer parts, drone making parts, and 3D printer spare parts piled up in the corner of the den. I was taking the Sig apart to put in a custom firing pin spring and that detent jumped across the room. I heard it rattle down through that pile of junk. I just went on line and ordered a new one. Have not seen the old one to this day.
I lost a few carburetor springs back in the day. That honed my licks for when I took up gunsmithing... Practice on the lawnmower before you work on the gun.
We actually got a scuba diver to find our missing 50cal spring on the bottom in Bahrain. There were no more on the ship so we had to find the one that went over the side.

Will the limp wrist libtards and ghetto rats think that this is "racist"???
ReplyDeleteOnly the extra-dark whites.
DeleteThey do this on purpose to downplay black crime. Officially, the 13% commit about 60% of crime.
DeleteIn reality, it’s much higher.
#15. But no where near the pain of being a Vikings fan.

DeleteWhat do you call a Viking with a Super Bowl ring? A thief.
DeleteWhy is the Viking team color purple? You would be purple too if you were choking for decades.
DeleteAt least in Dallas they are smart enough to play indoors.
DeleteJust wanted to say that those teams all sound like Heaven to a Browns' fan.
Delete#1 - Jesus spring - I've launched a few of them.
ReplyDeleteBy the way - good reason to wear safety glasses when cleaning your guns.

ReplyDeleteGet a 1 gallon freezer bag. Disassemble gun in bag.
Deletewildbill
I learned the freezer bag trick later. At which point I slapped myself on the forehead and said "duh".

Delete#1 Forgot to clamp the spring when replacing the front strut.
ReplyDeleteLost a couple of springs on my M 15s.
ReplyDeleteCat named Van Eyck was shown people how to do the years ago.

ReplyDelete#19 - good luck with that.

ReplyDelete#18 I have a picture of me and some cousins playing in flood water after a hurricane.
ReplyDeleteHow do you people live? I can find a BB in sand. From 10 ft. That's a good skill because I launch springs like I was Elon.
ReplyDeleteOh, Kenny this is a fine selection. Ya outdid yourself.
ReplyDelete#3 No! no way would I eat that! use by 9/11/17 ffs.
ReplyDeleteWTF is a Scotch steak?

ReplyDeleteThis reminds me to order extra springs and detents for my rifle. its just a club when you loose them.
ReplyDelete3: The price gives me pause, but if I catch that marked down, let's go.
