  2. Back over 50 years ago when I was employed by a Bell System company using a ladder to climb a pole was verboten. Strap on your hooks, body belt and go or you got a kick in the ass from the boss.

    2. I've done some pole work. Communication lines are always down low, electrical lines are up above.

    3. bog; I knew a guy who slid down a pole that was full of splinters. After that he used a ladder and got fired.

  6. EPA and OSHA. The one two punch for moving businesses to china. Helmet, steel toe boots, high vis vest. Can't see if his glasses are on. He's fine.

    1. My first encounter with OSHA was seeing an inspector hog tied and hanging from the rafters by his ankles. He'd tried to cite a guy who was building his own home for child labor because his kids were there.

  8. I used to install cable TV from the pole to the house. Only time used the heavy ass ladder was if I had to pull a mid span. Then those hooks on the ladder came in handy. I think I used the ladder on a pole one time, but that was because the pole was so chewed up, I kept 'gaffing' out. Couldn't climb the pole for love nor money.
