Preparing Firewood - Dry Creek Wrangler School

  1. I'd think twice about stacking fire wood against a structure especially if it is wood frame. Unless it is short term. Good way to introduce bugs like scorpions or spiders and maybe termites

  4. Re stacking the wood in that area - he’s from out West in a much drier area - lower chance of termites or carpenter ants. That would be convenient for just popping out to grab an armload or two for the evening.
    I dry my wood on pallets which are set up on cinderblock. Tarp or plastic sheeting comes off on clear and breezy days. I stack the wood fairly loosely, as cross-cross as possible and it dries very quickly.
    Going to build a wood shed this summer behind my barn. Clearing brush for it this winter
