HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- A former funeral home employee has been charged with abuse of a corpse following allegations that she mutilated the body of a sex offender, according to Harris County Precinct 1 Constable Alan Rosen.
My first reaction was, "Good for her! You go girl!" Then in read the article and found she wasn't a victim of abuse by anyone, let alone the dead scumbag. She is just an ignorant, disrespectful jackass who deserves to be fined, fired, and never allowed to work in a funeral home again in any capacity.
So if say your wife, mother or child was raped, you don't think you have skin in the punishment of the rapest How about a girlfriend or nice neighbor lady ?? The asshole is dead, how is this going to effect him JD
Treating all human remains with dignity is not showing respect to that specific person. We're showing respect to our Creator to maintain our dignity and honor. We must set the bar higher than "We're gonna act like animals and that'll show bad guys!". Someone has to be the grownup.
Also, it's her job to be respectful.
I was commenting on the woman's disturbing behavior, not the corpse. This story feels a bit like a cop caught doing drugs she stole from the evidence room. Then again, we must bear in mind this is an embalmer in a funeral parlor. The weird-crime-scale is a bit higher than normal.
I first assumed the women had been raped or abused by that specific scumbag, or at least by some scumbag. If that were true, I can understand her need for personal revenge against all sex offenders. Paying a fine and losing her career would be worth it under those circumstances. I think that's where our sympathy comes from.
But do we really know her motive? How would a coroner or embalmer know this dude was a sex offender? Is there a secret sex offender tattoo? Was his sex offender status included in the obituary? Was he infamous as a sex offender in Houston?
Now that I think about it more, I was wrong to call her an ignorant, disrespectful jackass. This may be Hannibal Lector / Lorena Bobbitt levels of creepy. Was it only a coincidence the guy was on the sex offender's list? Did she mutilate female corpses too? Was mutilating corpses the reason she became an embalmer? Has anyone checked her refrigerator for fava beans and Chianti?
You're the troll that comes down on bogside over his comments, huh? I can tell by your self righteous attitude. Personally, I could give a shit less if she wheeled him out into the parking lot, hooked a chain around his ankles and dragged him around town behind her truck. Yes, I hate sex offenders that much. Fuck treating his corpse with respect. As my dad used to say, respect is earned, not demanded.
At the least, the pervert's body shouldn't be buried in holy ground. Piece of shit.
I also hate sex offenders. Know too many people whose lives have been messed up due to sex offenders.
Personally, I think that any real sex offender, not an 18yo HS student having sex with his 16yo HS student girlfriend, should be locked away. There's no rehabilitating sex offenders as all you can do is to teach them to hide it better.
Whoa! I didn't insult anyone here. I made valid arguments. "Self-righteous attitude"? I am a Protestant, if that means anything. I am Old Testament when it comes to life, death, crime, and punishment.
Does Blogspot show you the IP address for our posts? If so, you should be able to ID my posts from the IP address. I've followed and posted here for years. I think Kim Du Toit's original gun blog is how I first found this site.
"...that comes down on bogside over his comments..."
My first post was not in response to bogsidebunny's post, if that's what you mean. It's only coincidence that I clicked "publish" after bunny's post. Or that you approved the posts in the order you did. In fact, I think I began typing my first post before the "Daryl" post appeared, got distracted reading something else, then came back and finished much later. I think there were zero posts on my screen when I clicked publish.
When I respond to someone's post or ask a question, I always include a quote so the person knows exactly what I'm talking about. Otherwise, I'm just throwing in my two cents about the original post. It's usually just random thoughts and first impressions.
I always read the story, then the comments, and if I don't see someone else already made the same joke and/or comment that I would make, then I'll post something. Sometimes.
No, blogger doesn't supply me with an IP, email or anything else, and when you've got multiple people hiding behind an Anonymous tag on the same post because they're either too lazy to take another 3 seconds and type out a screen name or don't have the balls to stand behind their statements with a name, it's kinda hard to tell who's who, especially when I'm dealing with a couple hundred comments a day. The bogside comments refer to the ones he makes on the 'And I'll leave you with this' posts an Fridays.
Well, crap. That never occurred to me because it's so easy for them to do. Now I understand some the extreme reactions to sarcasm or a weak joke. I never took it personally, but I was confused at the anger for some real nothing-burgers.
Let's see. Henceforward, I shall append "Red Alert!" to my posts as a weak attempt to separate me from bots and trolls. Is anyone already using that as a handle?
There are other arguments for privacy besides laziness or lack of conviction. For me, it's just a matter of principle. I pay cash and haven't used a credit card in 25 years. I don't use smartphones or text messaging. I'm not Jack Reacher, but I am mostly off-grid.
I have never used "free" email like Gmail or Hotmail. Who would agree to allow Google or Microsoft read their email? Only people who never read the End User's License Agreement. Nothing in life is free (TANSTAAFL).
I also have never used social media. Corporations are soulless whores and they sell to literally anyone. That includes the Feds, State and local police, and all foreign governments. So all 4th Amendment protections are forfeited if you use Facebook, Twitter, or whatever.
Finally, every now and again there are comments made here that...um...how can I phrase this...rings my "FED!" alarm bell. At this point, I assume any comment posted on any web site is either FBI, DHS, or a Russian or Chinese Bot trying to stir up trouble. I don't take things very seriously and try to laugh about how screwed we all are. Also, they're after our Precious Bodily Fluids.
"The bogside comments refer to the ones he makes on the 'And I'll leave you with this' posts an Fridays."
Oh. Well, now I have to go read and see what you mean. What a crazy coincidence his post in this thread landed right above mine. Hold on a second...
Okay, I went back to last Friday and no, I didn't comment in that thread. But I see what you mean by that person being a troll. Not a very good troll, if you ask me. Those kind of weak, kindergarten playground insults are invisible to me. Amateur really. I would do so much better.
For the record, I am GenX. Millenials and younger like to say "Okay Boomer" as an insult to Boomers. But Zoomers are especially ignorant, so they also call GenX-ers "Boomers" due to our grey hairs, affordable and adequate higher education, and taste in classic rock performed live on MTV by actually talented musicians who actually wrote their own music and lyrics. I am always forced to explain that Boomers are in their mid-60s to early-80s. GenX is only mid-40s to late-50s.
GenX sets the clock on the Boomer's microwave after power outages. We show Boomers how to enlarge the fonts on their iPhone. And repeat the lesson after they accidentally set it back smaller. We maintain Boomer computers and try to explain to them the difference between a web page and the browser program which shows the web page. Futile, I know.
Finally, most Boomers now get Social Security and Medicare. GenX is the first generation to pay FICA tax their entire life, but will never see one penny in return. The big Ponzi scheme ends with GenX. So we tend to be a teensy bit more cynical and sarcastic than Boomers.
10 years of "probation" for Rodriguez's sexual assault conviction was bullshit. Charles Roy Rodriguez should have been castrated by the state after his conviction. She did what the State failed to do. She should get probation at the most.
Better not get me on the jury. It'd be a case of- "We're hopelessly deadlocked, your honor. 11 guiltys and 1 "I don't blame her for fucking up that piece of shit."

Should have done it before he died, only problem I can see.
