ATF’s History on Waco is Full of Misinformation and Coverup

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives posted a “history” of the botched service of a search warrant on the residence and buildings of the Branch Davidian religious sect on unincorporated property near Waco, Texas, on February 28, 1993.

  1. I remember that the local sheriff said that if the ATF had come to him first he would have served the warrant.

    1. A couple of local deputies politely knocking on the door could have averted all the shit that followed

    2. ATF sat in the same restaurant with him and didn't do a thing. They wanted to send a message - we got it.

  2. This deadly debacle was brought to you by the Clinton-Reno tag team.

    1. But don't forget: Ruby Ridge happened under Bush 41. Waco began after Clinton took office, but before he appointed Reno, so some Bush deputy AG was in charge during the initial raid to plant cameras and shoot dogs - which got some of the raiders shot, and that pretty much drove the violence afterwards.

OTOH, Clinton could have found an AG much earlier - if he hadn't insisted on a female Democrat, and finding one who never hired an illegal immigrant as a nanny turned out to be so difficult.

  3. It all totally normal for the goobermint to conduct a raid, knowing the element of surprise had been compromised, (as undercover agents reported.)
It’s also completely normal for said goobers to pump gas into a structure full of small children with the intent of torturing those kids “so the maternal instincts to protect them” would kick in. Torturing kids to provide an outcome is all very fine work done by Top Men.
Regardless of the aftermath of the fire, it’s also completely legit that you destroy the crime scene completely, shove vehicles out of the way and roll tanks over all the debris.
Oh, by the way, has anyone seen the evidence of full auto conversions done by the “cult”? A third hole drilled in a receiver for an auto sear doesn’t seal itself back up. I wonder why? Never mind all that - it’s all completely legit and beyond reproach because goobermint loves us to death.

    1. I've also heard that the original warrant for that raid was falsely sworn. In order to get helicopters, they swore that the cultists used drugs - which was true _before_ David Koresh took over, but anyone who knew anything about him knew that he had zero tolerance for drugs.

To my mind: Falsely sworn warrant = felony. Felony leading to federal agents killed = felony murder. The planners of that raid should have been arrested and put on trial for a capital crime. After the cultists saw that on the news, they might have been in the mood to negotiate rather than fight to the death.

  4. It's always the same game plan with the government, start labeling you with derogatory names, create a crisis while blaming you for it, storm in and kill everyone that is not part of their little gang . Wash and repeat

  6. "Wendigoon" is a youtuber who did a professional-quality report on the Waco massacre. He gives some background on David Koresh and how the community/cult around him developed.

Say what you will about the Branch Davidians, ATF and FBI really did out-crazy those poor people, and they lied through their teeth about it. The psychological warfare with loudspeakers and searchlights going all night was just nuts. Not for the faint of heart.

  7. Maybe the idea is simply to kill a bunch of people now and then to remind everyone who’s boss.
