That was a little too close for comfort, JD

Lafourche Parish Sheriff Craig Webre announced one man has died and another is in custody following a shooting in Raceland on Tuesday. Chad Ingram, 46, of Raceland, died as a result of the shooting. Deputies arrested Kody Cheramie, 19, of Raceland shortly after the incident. He is being charged with murder in the incident.

Why was it a close one? Because longtime reader and friend JD was out on his morning 3 miler and was just feet away when it happened.
Yeah, he emailed me shortly after he was done giving his statement and I was all about "Daaamn, who the fuck would expect to see that on an otherwise pleasant morning?"

  1. It's definitely not what I expected when I left for my walk.... I've been walking through this area for years and it's always been a quiet place with only maybe a dog or 2 barking at me...

  2. Head on a swivel gents. Crazy and broke people do crazy broke things. It may be a good idea to change up the routine a few days a week. That well beaten path used at the same time every day is a signal to folks with bad intentions.

    1. I had my eyes on them, they were arguing and I expected them to start swinging at each other... It was cool enough to wear a sweatshirt or hoodie and that's what the shooter had on.. The gun came out of the kangaroo pocket fast and he just started shooting, I was about 20 ft away and hauled my ass away ASAP to behind cover...
