Tennessee lawmakers continue to discuss whether or not public school districts should be allowed to deny children who are undocumented.
Debate at the statehouse Tuesday morning surrounded HB 793, by Republican House Majority Leader William Lamberth (R-Portland). The bill would allow local education agencies (LEAs) to choose whether or not to enroll students who are “unlawfully present” in the U.S.
Diverse Opinions please. Are persons in the US illegally operating under the legal limits of the constitution or not? IF so, how so? If not NONE of the legal protections and privledeges. NOTE: My forefathers, perhaps five or so, signatures are on the declaration. How 'bout Y'all Bro ?
ReplyDeleteIf you arrived illegally, then regardless of whatever is done afterwards, it is still illegal. The fruits of the crime are still tainted.
DeleteWhy educate your enemies?
DeleteWhat part of illegal is acceptable in a Republic?
DeleteYour forefathers proudly put their names on the declaration of independence. Why do you not sign your's here?
DeleteAsk the people paying property taxes to support those schools.
ReplyDeleteJust ban? How about turning them into the veal variety of dog food.
ReplyDeleteFrom the linked article, "Every district in this state right now primarily asks for three things when the child enrolls in school: a birth certificate, proof of residency, and proof of immunizations,” Lamberth said during a House committee hearing."
ReplyDeleteIf Trump's removal of birthright citizenship stands, a US birth certificate will no longer be proof of citizenship. Have the state legislators thought this through?
I wasn't born within the U.S., but both my parents were.
DeleteTwo illegal aliens don't make a U.S. citizen.
How about parents birth certificate instead?
ReplyDeleteI don't see the problem. If there is not enough money, just kick out some American children. They can live in the streets next to our homeless veterans.
ReplyDeleteThe argument against ending birthright citizenship is that it would 'injure' the non-citizen (immigration status, or lack thereof, irrelevant).
ReplyDeleteThe injury is that it would remove 'the opportunity' of non-citizens to 'enjoy the full benefits of U.S. citizenship' to which they are 'entitled'.
No kidding, that is the charge against the chief executive made by 22 state AGs.
What a bunch of horse shit.
There's a song named Lunatic Fringe,, we all know you're out there... Well they're not really fringe anymore
