Wirecutter, I just have to tell you that I followed your lead and ordered a new pistol. As I am getting ready to celebrate my own 65th birthday in two months, I reassessed my own needs, and have sold my Ruger SR9c, and am instead getting a brand new Rossi rp63. I got more for my Ruger SR9c than I paid for it, and I got the Rossi revolver for $315, plus shipping. Taurus also is running a rewards program until the end of May, where if you purchase any new Taurus or Rossi revolver, they will send you 2 boxes of Hornady Critical Defense .38 special ammo free. For those who don't know what the Rossi rp63 is, it is a 3" small/medium frame .357 magnum,6 shot revolver. Of course at the price it is an entry level gun, but most reviews I have seen have nothing but good things to say about it. Now I am looking at getting into reloading as the .38 special is a good caliber for that. I may never shoot any .357 magnum rounds through this gun, but it is nice to know that I can ifI want to, but I don't need the recoil of that round. Be well, everyone, and have a great upcoming summer. It hit 80 degrees here in West Michigan today so we are getting close.
