#20 I get the meme. But- My Vanagon Syncro has a Subie EJ22 engine swap. Non-interference flat four, water cooled, OBD II. Relatively easy bolt-in, looks like it belongs there. (ECU and harness mods best left to a professional.) A HUGE improvement over factory in every respect.
What he is alluding to is he has an engine swap in his VW wagon for a Subaru flat four. Same kind of engine with some of the same controls. And the VW base engine is air cooled rather that water and a radiator like the Subaru. Or at least that is what I got from his greek.
I had a Subaru with a flat four. In the winter the carb would ice up and stall. I'd have to get out in blizzards and thaw it out. It also used a qt of oil a day. Only had about 100k miles on it.
Fact 2001 golf timing belt broke while my wife was driving out of state on business. Trashed top end $3,800 estimate plus towing , $25 a day storage while I try to figure out how to get it back home if I elect to not have them do the repair. I ended up sending them the title and they got the car in exchange for towing. Add interference engine to the list of deal breakers when car shopping. My Dad tried to warn me if it's got tit's or tires eventually it's going to give you trouble.
#10 I try not to use self checkout, but I don't understand how so many people haven't figured out yet you can swipe/tap/insert your credit card BEFORE the cashier is finished scanning your order. FFS, at least pull it out of your wallet/purse and have it ready.

My girl and I drove out to lovers lane. Got a flat tire. I pumped, she jacked...then we got out and changed the tire.
Delete#20 hmmm wonder if he ever thought of buying that? Now that's funny
ReplyDeleteI seen some comments from people crying and saying Trump can't buy Greenland. So I wrote underneath it, "Of course he can't. Elon Musk: "Add to cart."

Except for your last sentence, I have no idea what you just said.

DeleteMost people learn the difference between an interference engine and a non-interference engine the hard way. The very hard way.
DeleteMost people don't have a Vanagon up north due to iron moth infestation and lack of ground clearance.

ReplyDelete#8--shit, in 2025 I have no fucking idea. Of course, I don't care, either. My doorbell is a knocker.
