  4. #6? Slide damaged from the first round, jammed the second round (which was dumped), then destroyed by the third round - is that what I'm seeing?

    2. I have a batch of shitty Red Army Steel ammo that not one gun will cycle a full Magazine. It's good for FTE FTF practice.

  9. hell, #2, the rats where not that bad back in the 1970's when I went to Paris. granted there where some, but not on the main streets like this. and not so many either.
then again, Paris is nothing like it used to be either with all of the Muslins there now.
#8, is that a damn shark attacking the boat ? fuck that shit ! shoot the fucker !

    1. Paris was by far the nastiest city I've ever visited in Europe. I saw a shitload of rats at night and that was back in 1980. I can only imagine how bad it is now.

    2. well, when I got close to the damn to that damn river/sewer there where a lot of them.
smell was kind of ripe too as I remember. even worse than Venice in summer !

    3. It was no better in 89 or 91. Neither time I was impressed with the 'cleanliness' of the city. The sights were everything I'd grown up to want to witness. The city...Detroit is cleaner today than Paris in either of those years.

  13. #6, that a Grach / PYa ? That design is known to have some "interesting" tradeoffs... and that back when it was just in small-rate production with the usually better quality control.

  15. #1: Safe bet that tool wasn't created by a liberal arts major. #10: That looks like what I believe is called a punt gun. A gun, more like a cannon and long since illegal, that was used in the late 1800's and early 1900's to bring down waterfowl by the basketfull. A gun not the be fired from the shoulder.

    1. It has a shoulder stock on it.

    2. Punt guns were waaaay bigger than that. They were mounted in the front of low lying skiffs, inches above water level.

    3. From the brass mounting bracket about 12 or 14 inches in front of the touch hole, I think it may be what was called a "wall gun." They were heavy caliber, heavy charge muskets mounted in fixed swivel positions on the wall of a fortress. The idea was to give the defenders a longer range weapon, something that could reach out and touch light artillery crews or engineers building siege works. Goober Joe there is firing off a plastic saw horse rather than a brass pin stuck into a hole in the stone parapet, thus the heavy recoil.

#2 I have a couple rat traps and the rats blow right by them. I am thinking about one of those bucket traps with a spinning pipe on top. They fall into a bucket of water and drown. I wonder if Paris could do something similar with a dumpster a third filled with water. They try crawling across a pvc pipe that spins and fall in and drown. Take it to the dump once a week.

  18. #2 - Paris is an ancient city. It's going to have rats.

It has a rich history dating back over 2,000 years12345. The oldest traces of human occupation in Paris date from about 8000 BC during the Mesolithic period. The Parisii tribe settled there between 250 and 200 BC and founded a fishing village on an island in the river that is the present-day Ile de la Cité, the center around which Paris developed.

  19. I believe #10 is a Wall Gun. Used on fortifications, mounted on a swivel and Y yoke. You can see the yoke in the GiF

#8 Let's go look for sharks in an inflatable boat! What could go wrong?
#10 A swivel gun that can be mounted on a ship's railing to repel boarders or on a fortress wall. That little sawhorse didn't absorb any of the recoil.
