May he rest in peace at Kokomo Bay.
ReplyDeleteGrew up in the early 60's devouring everything Beach Boys. He will always be remembered as a true genius of his craft! Few can attain the hights that Brian did. I dragged his story off the shelf tonight and going to read it again. Gone, but never forgotten. Hope he's just gunna keep havin fun fun fun!
ReplyDeleteLet us not forget that he was pals with Charlie Manson and the girls and he would let Charlie drive his Rolls Royce. He was lucky to get out of that alive.
ReplyDeleteThat Manson relationship dabbling was caused by the demon drugs Brian was seduced by.
DeleteCuriously, only one surfer in the band. And it wasn't Brian. Great music, though. We Spotified Pet Sounds just last weekend, coincidentally.
ReplyDeleteHe performed on the 2020 Cayamo Music Cruise, we watched around 10 minutes and left. Too painful to continue. He'd slipped a lot by then.
ReplyDeleteMaybe you weren't on board for the whole journey.
DeleteThey pretty much started the west coast sufer trek to what's now commiefornua....
ReplyDeleteRest in Peace dude

ReplyDeleteKen, you are a fucking genius! Laughed so hard at this I scared the dog.
It just popped into my head as soon as I saw the headline. I couldn't resist it. Now you can believe how much trouble my mouth got me into when I was a kid.
DeleteAt Rincon they're walkin' the nose...
DeleteMy Dad often warned us “sometimes it’s more important what you don’t say…..” Might be true, but this blog would be a lot less entertaining if you followed that advice too closely.
