I read a meme last week; I don't recall where. The author asked: does the dog retrieve the ball because it wants to chase it or does the dog retrieve the ball because it thinks I like to throw it?
And if it wasn't chasing a ball he'd be inventing his own sort of 'work', be it chasing cars, or Rain Bird sprinklers or one of a thousand other 'jobs'.
You've got to know what you're getting into when you take on one of these wonderful dogs.
