thanks Kenny. my old dog Jack used to swim like that when he was a younger pup. any old puddle or mud hole would do if he couldn't get to the river. and he had a habit of taking over the kids wading pool that we got for them . just watching this brought back images of his silly happy face playing in the water. again. thanks. dave in pa.
used warm water. never had a problem giving any of my dogs a bath as long as the water was warm enough for them. Hell, old jack used try and lay down in it when I was trying to clean him up. that and I found having a few older bath towels in the truck helped a lot with old jack. if there was any water around, he got into it alright. dave in pa.
I've had a couple dogs over the years that loved to play in puddles, kiddie pools and such that hated getting a bath... Warm water and a good shampoo over stinky muddy water, nope.. We always found a compromise.. My current dog Boo loves water, and sits in the tub just as happy as he can be. JD
Our neighbors had a pool and a dog named Rags. Often during the summer we would hear sounds of a dogs nails on concrete, then a splash, then a repeat of the process. They also had a parrot, and the only thing I ever heard the parrot say was, "Rags shut up."
I had a 96# Black Lab, Jack, who loved to swim. The only problem was he liked to swim in the manure lagoon and then rush to greet visitors after he climbed out. Dog got more baths than I could count but I'd still give a small fortune to have him back.
Nice video of dogs having fun, but in the name of diversity, equality and inclusion can we get a video where a pack of cats are enjoying the same aqua antics?
Kind of off the topic. Those dogs reminded me of something I saw about twenty years ago which was rare even then. I was on and old country road and two young boys were walking with fishpoles on their shoulders with a forked stick with about eight trout hanging off it. Remember when you used to see that a lot?

Dogs do show us how to appreciate the simplest things in life. Thanks for the reminder.
ReplyDeleteSo cute, don't try to give any one of them a bath though...

ReplyDeleteToady is the 3rd anniversary of the passing of my old boy Bugsy, so I was a bit down. This cheered me up. Thanks!
